Week 11: Wednesday injury report

Herbie Teope November 13, 2013

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs list seven players on the initial NFL Injury Report ahead of Sunday’s showdown against the Denver Broncos.

Defensive end Mike Catapano (ankle) returned to practice in a limited fashion after missing Week Nine’s game. Also appearing as limited is wide receiver Dexter McCluster (ankle).

The Chiefs list wide receiver Donnie Avery (shoulder), tight end Anthony Fasano (ankle, knee), tight end Sean McGrath (knee), linebacker Dezman Moses (toe) and fullback Anthony Sherman (knee, calf) as full participants.

Fasano has appeared as a limited participant in past weeks leading to game day since returning from his injuries in Week Seven. His listing as a full participant this early in the week could signal he’s closer to 100 perent.

Meanwhile, the Broncos list 13 players on the initial report.

Headlining the list is quarterback Peyton Manning, who did not practice Wednesday.

However, Manning addressed the media during a conference call and said he will play against the Chiefs. He also indicated he would return to practice on Thursday.

“I took the day to kind of rehab and use the time to get better,” Manning told reporters. “And I expect to be out there tomorrow.”

Other notable Denver starters appearing on the report are wide receiver Wes Welker (ankle, limited), cornerback Champ Bailey (foot, limited) and tight end Julius Thomas (ankle, full).
