KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chiefs defensive end Allen Bailey will miss a second straight game with a calf injury.
The Chiefs officially ruled Bailey as out for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers. Bailey missed all three days of practice in recent days.
Two key members on defense, however, should be available, as cornerback Sean Smith (knee) and outside linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) are officially designated as probable, along with tight end Travis Kelce (groin).
Smith put in a full practice Friday, while Hali sat out as the Chiefs continue to take it easy on the 10th-year pro leading to the weekend.
“Tamba didn’t practice,” coach Andy Reid told reporters, “but that’s kind of the way we’ve been rolling. I think he’ll be fine.”
The Chiefs list safety Tyvon Brach (foot, thigh) and rookie inside linebacker Ramik Wilson (ankle) as questionable. Both players, however, put in a full practice Friday.
Guard Ben Grubbs (neck) is out for Sunday’s game and will miss a third straight game.
The Chargers list wide receiver Malcom Floyd (shoulder) as out, starting guard D.J. Fluker (concussion) as questionable, and tight end Antonio Gates (knee) as probable.
Fluker suffered the concussion during Wednesday’s practice and missed the past two days of practice, putting his status against the Chiefs very much in the air.
