Cornerback Phillip Gaines did not practice for the Chiefs Wednesday in their preparations for hosting the Tennessee Titans at Arrowhead Stadium, but the team appears relatively healthy following a short break provided by last Thursday night’s game.
Gaines continues to battle issues in his knee that limited him primarily to special teams against Oakland.
Linebackers Tamba Hali (knee) and Justin Houston (illness) practiced in limited roles along with defensive lineman Kendall Reyes (wrist). Defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches, who left the game against Oakland with back spasms, returned to practice fully.
The team listed linebacker Derrick Johnson not practice due to his remaining on active roster. Johnson’s season is over after sustaining a torn Achilles tendon in his left foot. The team has yet to make a roster move replacing Johnson.
