Tyreek Hill Reports for Offseason Workouts, No New Details on Investigation

Matt Derrick April 15, 2019

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill reported for the start of the team's voluntary offseason workout program Monday, but head coach Andy Reid said there's no new information regarding an investigation into two police reports taken at Hill's home last month.

“There's been no new news on it,” Reid said. “I'm going to leave it at that. I have had a chance to say hello to him, I have done done that and again see him in the meeting.”

Overland Park, Kansas Police recorded Hill and his fiance Crystal Espinal as others involved in a report of child abuse/neglect on March 5 at Hill's residence. A second report on March 14 record at the home listed a battery incident with a juvenile victim. Espinal was listed among others involved in the report, but Hill was not mentioned.

The club issued a statement after the police reports became public.

“The club is aware of the investigation involving Tyreek Hill,” the statement read. “We are in the process of gathering information and have been in contact with the league and local authorities. We will have no further comment at this time.”

Reid added Monday the team is moving forward working out with the team.

“He's here until – off of what we know, he's here," Reid said.

The coach declined to elaborate further on the investigation or if he had spoken to authorities.

“I don't want to make judgement on anything other than he's here, he's working and we don't have anything else,” Reid said. “That's kind of what we got.”
