Rashee Rice, Clyde Edwards-Helaire Limited in Chiefs Thursday Super Bowl Practice

LAS VEGAS — Chief wide receiver Rashee and running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire were limited in practice on Thursday but neither issue appears serious enough to impact their availability in Super Bowl LVIII Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Rice, who has been dealing with a sore ankle in recent weeks, got his other ankle stepped on about an hour into Thursday’s practice, according to pool reporter Peter King. Head coach Andy Reid said he wasn’t concerned about Rice, who walked off the field after practice without a limp.

“He got stepped on,” Reid told the pool reporter. “He’s all right.”

Edwards-Helaire has an illness, according to the injury report, but did participate in participate in the full practice.

Nick Allegretti ran at left guard with the starting offensive line again on Thursday and appears likely to start there Sunday in place of injured Joe Thuney. Thuney was the only player on the active roster who did not practice. Running back Jerick McKinnon (groin) was limited.

The 49ers’ injury report remained unchanged on Thursday. two starters — tight end George Kittle (toe) and defensive tackle Arik Armstead (knee/foot) — along with key backup linebacker Orren Burks were limited but the trio appears likely to play Sunday.

The Chiefs hold their final Super Bowl practice at 11:45 a.m. Pacific time Friday with a customary 10-10-10 practice consisting of alternating periods with 10 plays for the offense and defense and 10 minutes of special teams work. On Fridays, the team focuses on red-zone, goal-line and short-yardage situations.

“It’ll be another fast-paced practice,” Reid told the pool reporter.
