KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Patrick Mahomes ranks No. 2 among fan voting for the 2019 Pro Bowl, trailing only New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.
Mahomes has hauled in 459,325 votes tallied through Nov. 20. Running back Kareem Hunt ranks No. 9 while tight end Travis Kelce comes in at No. 10, giving the Chiefs three of the top 10 leaders. The Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers each have two of the top-10 vote leaders.
Brees paces all vote-getters with 487,400 votes. Rams running back Todd Gurley, Steelers running back James Conner and New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley round out the top five.
The Chiefs have three position leaders on the AFC team. Mahomes and Kelce lead at their positions along with return specialist Tyreek Hill. While Hunt ranks among the top vote getters among all NFL players, he comes in No. 2 among AFC running backs behind Pittsburgh's James Conner. Conner leads with 384,643 votes, followed by Hunt with 293,209.
Fans can continue voting for the Pro Bowl team through Dec. 13. Players for the game are determined by votes among fans, players and coaches with each group counting one-third toward the final voting. Players and coaches cast their votes on Dec. 14.
The Pro Bowl teams will be unveiled on the NFL Network at 7 p.m. central time on Dec. 18. The games takes place Jan. 27 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. That date falls between the conference championship games and the 2019 Super Bowl in Atlanta.
