KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Chiefs' first official practice of the regular season including all 53 active players working out in full as the team prepares to kickoff its season Sunday at Jacksonville.
Only one starter appears on the injury report — safety Tyrann Mathieu, who practiced in full with a shoulder issue. He injured the shoulder in Week 2 of the preseason at Pittsburgh, but he expects to play in Sunday's opener against the Jaguars.
Three other players practiced in full with injury designations: running back Darrel Williams (shoulder), safety Armani Watts (shoulder) and tight end Deon Yelder (ankle). Yelder missed the final two games of the preseason after sustaining a sprained ankle against Pittsburgh, but all signs point to his availability in Week 1 at Jacksonville.
The Jaguars did not practice Wednesday due to mandatory evacuation orders in Jacksonville due to Hurricane Dorian. Injury tags on Wednesday's report are estimations of player availability had the team held a workout. The Jaguars plan to return to practice on Thursday.
Quarterback Nick Foles heads the list with an oblique injury, but the team labelled him as fully available, and he expects to start Sunday against his former teammates. Only backup tight end Josh Oliver (hamstring) appears in danger of missing Sunday's game.
