KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Chiefs injury report couldn't look much brighter for the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots, with safety Eric Berry headlining the list of those likely to play Sunday.
“I feel pretty good,” Berry said after practice Friday. “I just talk to coach and see what he wants to do and just go from there.”
Running back Spencer Ware (hamstring) and right guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (ankle) both practiced in full Friday and appear likely to play. Reid liked how Duvernay-Tardif looked in practice this week, but didn't commit with certainty that he would return to his starting role at right guard.
“He's done a good job, respectable job,” Reid said. “Again, he's one of the guys on that list, just take it day-by-day here and see how it all works out.”
Berry, who continues nursing a heel injury, said he hoped to play in the team's Divisional Playoff victory last weekend. He remains vague on the specifics of his injury and what setback may have occurred last week.
“It's just a lot of complications that I can't really explain,” Berry said. “Hopefully this weekend it will be different.”
The club ruled out linebacker Dorian O'Daniel, who continues recovering from my an ankle injury sustained in the season finale against Oakland.
The Patriots enjoy an even more glowing injury report with no players carrying injury notations or game designations for Sunday.
