ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — On day when the injured list for the Chiefs took a big step forward, wide receiver Sammy Watkins added his name to the group after leaving practice with a hip issue.
The Chiefs did receive good news on the conditions of starting inside linebackers Anthony Hitchens and Reggie Ragland. Both missed time recently with knee issues, but Hitchens returned for individual work on Monday before continuing rehab work on the sideline. Ragland expanded his workload on Monday, seeing time in pads during full team drills.
Defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi (elbow) also practiced on field before resuming rehab work on the sidelines.
Four players did not practice: safety Leon McQuay (hamstring), linebacker Dorian O'Daniel (thumb), cornerback Keith Reaser (quad) and running back Charcandrick West (concussion).
Only other player did not finish practice. Offensive lineman Dillon Gordon left early with a shoulder injury and will have a further evaluation.
The club also confirmed that center Tejan Koroma suffered a torn ACL. The team placed waived him with an injury designation on Sunday. He expects to clear waivers and return to the club on injured reserve for his rehab.
