KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs tweaked the roster Thursday with a series of moves in the hours after the mandatory minicamp.
The Chiefs signed wide receiver Seantavius Jones and safety Akeem Davis, according to Thursday’s NFL Transactions report.
Jones, who attended the three-day minicamp on a tryout basis, originally entered the league in 2014 as an undrafted free agent out of Valdosta State with the New Orleans Saints. He last spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Davis entered the league in 2014 as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis with Washington before spending time with the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts in 2015.
To make room on the roster, the Chiefs waived wide receiver Kenny Cook with an injury designation and defensive back Bryce Cheek.
Cook, who suffered a torn quadriceps on Tuesday, underwent surgery Thursday.
