KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs announced on Friday the signing of wide receiver Mark Harrison, who attended the recently concluded three-day minicamp on a tryout basis.
Listed at 6-3, 230 pounds, Harrison clocked a 4.37 time in the 40-yard dash at the 2013 NFL Scouting Combine.
He originally entered the league on April 29, 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers after agreeing to terms with the Chicago Bears. However, Harrison failed a physical with a foot injury, leading to the New England Patriots to sign him on May 20, 2013.
The former Scarlet Knight spent last year on injured reserve with a foot injury before the Patriots released him two weeks ago on June 4.
While at Rutgers, Harrison caught 107 passes for 1,769 yards and 19 touchdowns.
The addition of Harrison currently gives the Chiefs 13 wide receivers heading into training camp and 89 total players on the offseason roster, one shy of the league maximum of 90.
