KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs on Thursday signed linebacker Darin Drakeford to the practice squad.
The 6-1, 240-pound Drakeford is familiar with the Chiefs scheme.
He originally entered the league in 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of Maryland with the Chiefs.
Drakeford spent training camp with the Chiefs before being signed to the practice squad on Sept. 1 where he spent four weeks before the Chiefs released him on Oct. 1.
Thursday’s move comes after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed linebacker Orie Lemon from the Chiefs practice squad to its active roster.
Lemon, whom the Chiefs brought back on Oct. 15, is the second linebacker the Chiefs have lost from the practice squad in the past week. Lemon replaced Nico Johnson, whom the Bengals signed to the active roster.
The Chiefs’ 10-man practice squad consists of Drakeford, wide receiver Armon Binns, tight end Brandon Barden, offensive tackle Curtis Feight, guard Ricky Henry, cornerback Deji Olatoye, guard Jarrod Pughsley, safety Daniel Sorensen, running back Charcandrick West and wide receiver Fred Williams.
