KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs on Friday announced the signing of defensive back Kevin Short.
Short’s signing comes after he went undrafted during Thursday’s NFL Supplemental Draft.
The 6-2, 185-pound Short began his college career at Fort Scott Community College, where he was a NJCAA First-Team All-America selection in 2012.
Short, a native of Florissant, Mo., transferred to Kansas following the 2012 season, but sat out the 2013 season after the NCAA ruled him ineligible.
He then left the team in early 2014 for personal reasons, and never played a down for the Jayhawks.
The Chiefs waived cornerback Kenneth Penny to make room on the 90-man offseason roster. Penny originally signed on the final day of mandatory minicamp after attending on a tryout basis.
