DENVER – Chiefs running back Knile Davis is among seven players inactive Sunday against the Broncos.

Davis’ listing is a surprise and the Chiefs will go with Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware as the only true running backs active for the game.

Saalim Hakim, who was elevated to the active roster from the practice squad earlier in the week, has returner experience. The Chiefs could turn to Hakim to handle kicks with Davis, the team’s primary returner, not playing.

The remaining inactives are quarterback Aaron Murray, cornerback Marcus Cooper, rookie linebacker Ramik Wilson (ankle), left guard Ben Grubbs (neck), rookie tight end James O’Shaughnessy (foot) and defensive end Allen Bailey (calf).

Jeff Allen will start at left guard in place of Grubbs, while Jah Reid will start at right tackle.

Dontari Poe will start at defensive tackle with Jaye Howard sliding over to right defensive end in place of Bailey.

Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) is active.
