KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The NFL unveils its 2018 schedule Thursday night, but the league provided an appetizer Wednesday night in announcing the Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams will meet in Mexico City on Nov. 19 for Monday Night Football.
The game kicks off at 7:15 central time and will air on ESPN. The game will also be available locally over the air on KMBC.
The game will take place at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City and is part of the NFL’s International Series. The Chiefs last played internationally in 2015 when the team knocked off the Detroit Lions 45-10 at Wembley Stadium in London.
Kansas City traveled to Monterrey, Mexico for an exhibition game against the Dallas Cowboys in 1996. The Cowboys prevailed 32-6. The Chiefs own a 2-3 record all-time in games played outside the United States.
The game counts as a home game for the Rams, which means the Chiefs still have a full slate of eight regular season home games at Arrowhead Stadium. The remainder of the 2018 slate will be announced Thursday evening.
