Chiefs Playoff Scenarios for Week 17

Here are the playoff scenarios for the Chiefs entering Sunday afternoon's game against Oakland. The Chiefs can make it simple by clinching the AFC West and home-field advantage with a victory over the Raiders. If the Chiefs lose or tie, it opens up a whole slew of scenarios where the Chiefs can still clinch the AFC West, but they need plenty of help.

The Chiefs have already clinched a playoff spot. If they do not clinch the AFC West and finish second behind the Los Angels Chargers, the Chiefs will be the No. 5 seed and travel to the fourth-best divisional champion during Wild Card weekend.

Kansas City clinches AFC West division title and home-field advantage throughout AFC playoffs with:

KC win OR

KC tie + LAC loss or tie OR

LAC loss + NE loss or tie + HOU loss or tie OR

LAC loss + NE loss or tie + KC clinches at least a tie in strength of victory tiebreaker over HOU

Kansas City clinches AFC West division title and a first-round bye with:

LAC loss + NE loss or tie OR

LAC loss + HOU loss or tie

LAC loss + KC clinches at least a tie in strength of victory tiebreaker over HOU

Kansas City clinches AFC West division title with:

LAC loss OR

KC tie + LAC tie
