KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Chiefs on Tuesday placed wide receiver Marcus Kemp on injured reserve and signed free agent receiver Jalen Tolliver, a 23-year-old from Arkansas-Monticello most recently with the Tennessee Titans.
Kemp torn the ACL and MCL in his left knee during Saturday night's preseason game at Pittsburgh and he will miss the 2019 season.
Tolliver entered the league in 2018 as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals. He spent most of last season on the practice squad, but was first promoted to the active roster in November. He played three games including one start, catching three passes for 37 yards. He spent the offseason on the Tennessee Titans until the club waived him earlier this month.
The 6-3, 210- pound Tolliver racked up 136 catches for 2,199 yards and 30 touchdowns during his final two seasons at NCAA Division II Arkansas-Monticello. He delivered a 4.54 40-yard dash time during his pro day along with a 37.5-inch vertical jump and a 6.99 three-cone time.
The Chiefs have not yet made official any move with free agent offensive linemen Jeff Allen, who reportedly agreed to terms with the Chiefs on a one-year deal Monday.
