KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Chiefs outside linebacker Justin Houston (knee) recently saw renowned orthopedic surgeon, Dr. James Andrews, a team spokesman confirmed Wednesday.
Rand Getlin of the NFL Network was the first to report Houston’s visit.
Houston suffered what the Chiefs categorized as a hyperextended knee in Week 12 against the Buffalo Bills and has missed two straight games. The fifth-year pro has not practiced since the injury.
With no present timetable for Houston’s return, second-year pro Dee Ford has started the past two games alongside outside linebacker Tamba Hali.
The extent of Houston’s injury to prompt a visit to Andrews remains unclear.
Andrews has performed surgery on numerous high-profile athletes, including Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, who underwent a procedure to repair a torn ACL in late October.
