KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NFL on Tuesday released the official order of the 2016 draft, which occurs April 28-30 in Chicago.
The Chiefs are set to enter the draft with seven picks, including the 28th overall pick in the first round.
Kansas City originally had eight picks in this year’s draft before the NFL stripped the Chiefs of a third-round pick (91st overall) in 2016 and a sixth-round pick in 2017 for violating the Anti-Tampering Policy.
The Chiefs appealed the punishment and a hearing is pending. Should the league’s ruling stand, the Chiefs will have just two selections within the first 100 picks of the draft.
The remaining picks are in the second round (59th overall), fourth round (126th), fifth round (162nd and 165th), sixth round (203rd) and seventh round (249th).
Kansas City secured the 162nd overall pick after trading safety Kelcie McCray to the Seattle Seahawks last year.
The Chiefs have no compensatory picks in the 2016.
The first round of the NFL Draft begins at 7 p.m. CT on Thursday, April 28, with the second and third rounds starting at 6 p.m. CT on Friday, April 29. The final four rounds of the draft start at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, April 30.
