The Chiefs list of inactive players doesn’t carry major surprises for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.
Guard/tackle Jeff Allen won’t play, but he entered the weekend listed as questionable. Allen, who practiced fully the past week, continues to recover from a knee injury suffered in the preseason opener.
With Allen down, the Chiefs have seven offensive linemen available for the game: Donald Stephenson, Ben Grubbs, rookie Mitch Morse, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, Eric Fisher, Jah Reid and Zach Fulton.
Fisher is returning from a high-ankle sprain.
The rest of the Chiefs players who are inactive are quarterback Aaron Murray, rookie cornerback Steven Nelson, cornerback Marcus Cooper, tight end Brian Parker, wide receiver Frankie Hammond Jr., and rookie defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches.
Nunez-Roches was listed on Friday’s injury report with an ankle injury, which he suffered in the preseason finale. The Chiefs listed him as probable.
