KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs are without rookie cornerback Phillip Gaines for Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders.
Gaines, who started the past two games, suffered a concussion during Wednesday’s practice and entered the game as doubtful.
The Chiefs will start cornerback Jamell Fleming in Gaines’ place.
Kansas City also lists wide receiver Donnie Avery (groin) as inactive. Avery put in a full practice Thursday and Friday, and was listed as probable.
Rookie wide receiver Albert Wilson will start a second straight game in place of Avery, who underwent a sports hernia procedure in early October and recently returned to the lineup.
The remaining inactives are quarterback Aaron Murray, center Eric Kush, offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, tight end Richard Gordon and defensive end Allen Bailey (concussion).
Vance Walker will start a second straight game for Bailey.
The Raiders list quarterback Matt MCGloin, wide receiver Denarius Moore, linebacker Sio Moore, guard Tony Bergstrom, offensive tackle Menelik Watson, tight end Brian Leonhardt and defensive tackle Stacy McGee as inactive.
