Chiefs CB Kendall Fuller Questionable vs. Seahawks, RB Spencer Ware doubtful

Dec 13, 2018; Kansas City, MO, USA; Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Travis Benjamin (12) catches a pass as Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Kendall Fuller (23) defends in the second half at Arrowhead Stadium.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Chiefs offense may find itself without two key options Sunday night at Seattle with wide receiver Sammy Watkins ruled out for the game and running back Spencer Ware doubtful.

But the Chiefs expect to have right tackle Mitchell Schwartz available, and hope to have cornerback Kendall Fuller on the field as well against the Seahawks.

"They got some work in today," head coach Andy Reid said following practice Friday. "We're okay. Those are veteran guys who know how it rolls. They will be ready to go.”

Schwartz practiced in full Friday after missing time earlier in the week with a knee injury. Fuller underwent hand surgery on Dec. 14, and returned to practice in a limited role Friday. He played with the injury against the Los Angeles Chargers last week wearing a cast on his hand.

Ware, who missed last week's game against the Chargers, practiced in a limited role this week with a hamstring injury. Damien Williams will draw the start again in his place if Ware can't go Sunday night. If Fuller can't go, rookie cornerback Charvarius Ward projects to step into the lineup.

Safety Eric Berry practiced in full for the first time this season this week, but Reid gave no indication if the team plans to continuing limiting his snaps against the Seahawks.

"He wants to play every snap," Reid said. "I don’t ever worry about that with him. When it feels good, let’s go. He is great with all of that.”

Left guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, who remains on injured reserve, ditched the walking boot he's been wearing and took to the field for drills this week. But Reid said the lineman still needs more time in his recovery from a broken fibula and ligament damage in his ankle before returning to practice.

“He is making progress and we'll just see," Reid said. "He’s getting close. We'll just see how he does. He’s not ready right now, but, I can’t give you a date on it, we will see. He's moving around pretty good.”
