ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Chiefs on Monday evening announced the signing of former Missouri star wide receiver L’Damian Washington.
Washington’s arrival bolster’s depth with Junior Hemingway (hip) and Chris Conley (knee) missing time in training camp with injuries.
The 6-4, 205-pound Washington broke out his senior season at Missouri in 2013 with 50 catches for 893 yards and 10 touchdowns, finishing his collegiate career with 100 catches for 1,735 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Washington, a native of Shreveport, La., entered the NFL in 2014 as an undrafted free agent, but has been unable to stick with a team.
Washington, has spent time with the Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Kansas City had an open roster spot after waiving defensive lineman Jerel Worthy earlier in the morning.
The Chiefs now have 14 wide receivers in training camp with Washington, Hemingway, Conley, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant, Albert Wilson, De’Anthony Thomas, Frankie Hammond Jr., Fred Williams, Armon Binns, Da’Ron Brown, Kenny Cook, Donatella Luckett and Jeret Smith.
