Chiefs add WR Boyd to practice squad

Chiefs add WR Boyd to practice squad

Herbie Teope December 11, 2013

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs signed rookie wide receiver Jheranie Boyd to the practice squad, the team announced Wednesday.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, Boyd entered the league in May as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

After being released by the Buccaneers, Boyd signed with the Cincinnati Bengals where he spent training camp.

The Bengals released him before the start of the regular season.

The team previously had an open spot on the practice squad after elevating tight end Dominque Jones to the active 53-man roster last week.
