KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs on Monday announced numerous roster moves, including the signing of six undrafted rookie free agents and waiving of two players.
Signed as rookie free agents are:
• Tennessee-Martin linebacker Ben Johnson (6-1, 234).
• Brigham Young safety Daniel Sorensen (6-2, 208).
• Louisiana-Lafayette wide receiver Darryl Surgent (6-0, 185).
• Tennessee State cornerback David Van Dyke (6-0, 185).
• Abilene Christian running back Charcandrick West (5-10, 205).
• Georgia State wide receiver Albert Wilson (5-9, 200).
The Chiefs made it official with the waiving of fullback Eric Kettani, which was covered earlier Monday, and waiving of wide receiver Rashad Ross.
Kettani and Ross spent time on the Chiefs practice squad in 2013.
Also on Monday, the Chiefs announced jersey numbers for five of the team’s six draft selections:
• First-round pick (23rd overall) outside linebacker Dee Ford will wear No. 90.
• Third-round pick (87th overall) cornerback Phillip Gaine will wear No. 23.
• Fifth-round pick (163rd overall) quarterback Aaron Murray will wear No. 7.
• Sixth-round pick (193rd overall) guard Zach Fulton will wear No. 73.
• Sixth-round pick (200th overall) offensive tackle Laurent Duvernay-Tardif will wear No. 76.
Fourth-round pick (124th overall) running back De’Anthony Thomas’ number has yet to be determined.
