C Mitch Morse remains out for Chiefs vs. Chargers Saturday night

C Mitch Morse remains out for Chiefs vs. Chargers Saturday night

Matt Derrick December 14, 2017

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Chiefs enter Saturday night’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers with only center Mitch Morse out of action, putting the team in a good physical shape heading into the Week 15 AFC West showdown.

Morse did not practice all week and will be out for the second-straight game. That makes seven games on the sideline for Morse with a sprained left foot this season. Zach Fulton expects to start again in his place with Bryan Witzmann likely at left guard.

Linebacker Tamba Hali, who saw limited practice time earlier this week and did not work out Friday, carries a questionable designation for the game. The Chiefs limit Hali’s work on turf fields, and team practiced in their indoor facility twice this week. But indications suggest Hali will play in his normal role as a situational pass rusher.

Safety Eric Murray practiced in full this week but the team lists him as questionable for the game. Murray missed the last two games with a high-ankle sprain. The team placed backup safety Steven Terrell on injured reserve Monday but elevated rookie safety Leon McQuay in his place for insurance.

Linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis is also questionable with a quad injury that limited him in practice on Wednesday.

The Chargers added cornerback Casey Hayward to their injury report on Thursday. The team lists him as questionable with a calf injury. Hayward told reporters Thursday in Los Angeles that the calf injury has been nagging him during the past few weeks.

No other Chargers carry injury designations for the game. That includes starters left tackle Russell Okung and defensive tackle Corey Liuget, both of whom practiced in full Thursday after limited work earlier in the week.
