KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs made 22 transactions Saturday to trim the roster from 75 players to the initial 53-man roster.
Center Eric Kush, wide receiver Fred Williams and defensive end Mike Catapano headline 19 waivers, while the Chiefs placed tight end Richard Gordon (ankle) on injured reserve, traded safety Kelcie McCray to the Seattle Seahawks and moved cornerback Sean Smith to the reserve/suspended list.
The Chiefs waived/released wide receiver Da’Ron Brown*, Catapano, safety Sanders Commings, linebacker Ja’Gared Davis, defensive tackle Hebron Fangupo, offensive lineman Garrett Frye, defensive end David Irving, linebacker James-Michael Johnson,Kush, wide receiver Tello Luckett, offensive lineman Daniel Munyer, cornerback Deji Olaytoye, offensive lineman Jarrod Pughsley, running back Darrin Reaves, offensive lineman Derek Sherrod, cornerback Kevin Short, tight end Ryan Taylor, fullback Spencer Ware and Williams.
The Chiefs can establish the 10-man practice squad starting at 12 p.m. CT.
*The Chiefs selected Brown in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
