Bills undecided at QB; Charles doesn’t practice

Bills undecided at QB; Charles doesn’t practice

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs have faced backup quarterbacks in three of the last four games.

And on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, the Chiefs could very well face the backup to the backup at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

With starter E.J. Manuel (knee) out another week, Buffalo Bill coach Doug Marrone said during Wednesday’s media conference call that quarterback Thad Lewis (ribs) is “50-50” for Sunday.

If Lewis can’t go, Marrone said he’ll decide between Jeff Tuel and Matt Flynn.

“Right now, I can literally say I’m not sure,” Marrone said about his quarterback position. “If I know that Thad can’t go, then I got to make sure that I’m getting a better look at Matt Flynn because I haven’t seen him that much.”

Marrone added Tuel and Flynn “split it up” with practice repetitions.

Charles misses practice

Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles (knee) participated in the team’s morning walk through, but did not participate during Wednesday’s afternoon practice.

“We’re going to let that thing settle down,” coach Andy Reid said of Charles’ knee contusion. “I think he’ll be all right.”

Charles suffered the injury against the Cleveland Browns. He briefly left the game before returning to finish with his eighth straight 100 total yards effort (74 rushing, 46 receiving).

Reid on “Baby Andy Reid”

The photo of baby Graham that took social media by storm in recent days caught the attention of the Chiefs head coach.

“I thought there were some similarities,” Reid said when asked by a reporter for his thoughts. “I thought he had a heck of a mustache. He looked very similar to Britt when he was born.”

Britt, of course, is Reid’s son and currently serves as a quality control coach for the Chiefs.
