KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs traded safety Kelcie McCray to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for Seattle’s 2016 fifth-round pick, according to Saturday’s NFL Transaction report.

Kansas City’s earlier announcement of the trade indicated an “undisclosed draft pick” as part of the 22 transactions to reach the initial 53-man roster.
The Chiefs have safeties Ron Parker, Husain Abdullah, Eric Berry, Tyvon Branch and Daniel Sorensen on the roster following the trade.
The 6-1, 205-pound McCray joined the Chiefs on Aug. 21, 2014 as part of a trade that sent guard Rishaw Johnson to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
McCray, a fourth-year pro, appeared in 16 games with the Chiefs in 2014, recording three total tackles (two solo) on 56 defensive snaps.
While his production on defense may have been limited, McCray made his mark on special teams where he recorded eight tackles the past season. His 301 snaps on special teams ranked third behind linebackers Frank Zombo (367) and Josh Martin (321).
McCray’s signature play in 2014 arguably came in Week 15 against the Oakland Raiders when he threw the key block that sprung returner De’Anthony Thomas for an 81-yard punt return for a touchdown.
The 26-year-old McCray entered the NFL in 2012 as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas State with the Miami Dolphins.
