The Chiefs will have two important players available for Sunday afternoon’s game against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium.

Cornerback Marcus Cooper is active after being listed as questionable with a knee injury. Cooper practiced on a limited fashion Thursday and Friday.

Also active is rookie running back/wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas, who makes his regular-season debut after missing four straight games with a hamstring injury.

Among the notable inactives are strong safety Eric Berry (ankle), who misses a third straight game, and wide receiver Donnie Avery (groin), who underwent surgery Friday morning.

Ron Parker will start a third straight game in Berry’s place.

Wide receiver A.J. Jenkins is expected to start at the X, or split end, position in place of Avery. The Chiefs will also work in wide receiver Frankie Hammond Jr., and Thomas could also be involved.

The Chiefs also list quarterback Aaron Murray, offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, center Eric Kush, defensive end Damion Square and wide receiver Albert Wilson as inactive.

Murray, Duvernay-Tardif and Square have yet to dress this season.

Notable inactives for the 49ers are tight end Vernon Davis (back) and offensive lineman Anthony Davis (knee/ankle). Both players were listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report.
