A total of 335 draft prospects, including 85 underclassmen, have accepted invitations and are set to attend an annual week-long player evaluation process known as the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
The assessments kick off Wednesday, Feb. 19 and run through Tuesday, Feb. 25 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
It’s virtually the NFL’s version of a job interview, which includes team interviews, medical and psychological evaluations, measurements, various drills and media sessions.
Draft prospects have an opportunity to leave a lasting impression ahead of May’s NFL Draft.
Conversely, the week affords teams an opportunity to meet players face-to-face for the first time in most cases.
Of course, the Combine is also one of the few events during the year where all 32 teams with general managers, coaching staffs and scouts will be under one roof.
Chiefs general manager John Dorsey and Andy Reid are expected to hold their respective media sessions between Thursday and Friday.
UPDATE: Reid is scheduled to address the media Thursday at 3:15 p.m. ET, while Dorsey addresses reporters Friday at 1:15 p.m. ET.
Meanwhile, the University of Kansas may not have players in Indianapolis this year, but there are a solid group of prospects with local university ties scheduled to attend:
