Week 17: Thursday injury report

Herbie Teope December 26, 2013

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Chiefs added wide receiver Dwayne Bowe to Thursday’s report with a concussion.

Bowe, who was not listed on Wednesday’s official report and practiced Tuesday, joins linebacker Tamba Hali (knee) as the two players not practicing Thursday.

Bowe’s injury came to light Thursday when he disclosed concussion-like symptoms to the team, leading to him sitting out practice, according to a team spokesman.

Coach Andy Reid addresses the media Friday where he’ll in all likelihood discuss Bowe’s status.

Still, the late listing of Bowe puts his availability for Sunday’s game in doubt when considering the concussion protocols he’ll have to go through before being cleared to play.

However, Bowe may have been a candidate to rest in Week 17 with the team having the No. 5 seed locked up and nothing to play.

The Chiefs have wide receivers Junior Hemingway and A.J. Jenkins behind Bowe.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs list left tackle Branden Albert (knee), right tackle Eric Fisher (shoulder), outside linebacker Justin Houston (elbow), linebacker James-Michael Johnson (shoulder), cornerback Ron Parker (ankle, shoulder), offensive lineman Donald Stephenson (knee) and kicker Ryan Succop (right groin) as full participants for a second straight day.

For the Chargers, running back Ryan Mathews (ankle) missed a second straight day of practice.
