KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Eric Fisher will start at right tackle Monday night against the Green Bay Packers, Chiefs coach Andy Reid announced Saturday after practice.

Reid said Fisher “did a nice job” in practice during the week, and the Chiefs officially designate him as probable with an ankle injury on the final injury report.
The head coach also doesn’t anticipate issues with Fisher lining up at right tackle.
Fisher, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2013 NFL Draft, played right tackle in his rookie year before moving to left tackle in 2014.
“I mean, he had played over there for the year, his first year,” Reid said. “He’s a pretty good athlete. Easy adjustment.”
Fisher did not start the first two games of the regular season while recovering from a high-ankle sprain suffered on Aug. 17.
He played sparingly on offense during that span, seeing action on three snaps in relief of left tackle Donald Stephenson, while logging 10 total snaps on special teams.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs list offensive lineman Jeff Allen (knee) as probable, signaling he could be available Monday night if needed.
“He had a better week this week,” Reid said, “so he’s pretty close to 100 percent.”
Allen suffered his injury in the preseason opener and did not play in the first two games of the regular season.
PATIENCE ON RETURNS
Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub on Friday touched on punt returner De’Anthony Thomas’ two fumbles through two games, and attributed the issue to Thomas’ excitement.
Thomas on Saturday conceded Toub’s point, adding he is “anxious to make a play” for the team.
The second-year pro, however, said he’s also adjusting during the early part of the season.
“Just still getting a feel,” he said. “It’s still kind of early, so just getting that rhythm back.”
The second-year pro said his mentality is he can take it the distance on any given punt return, but Thomas understands can’t put the ball on the ground.
He said he will be more aware of his surroundings going forward.
“Just being more patient,” Thomas said. “Letting the ball come to me and let my God-given ability handle everything else.”
