Chiefs’ S Ron Parker questionable vs. Eagles; DT Bennie Logan will play

Chiefs’ S Ron Parker questionable vs. Eagles; DT Bennie Logan will play

Matt Derrick September 15, 2017

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Chiefs safety Ron Parker enters Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles as questionable for the second-straight week with an ankle injury.

Parker played all 81 defensive snaps against New England with the same injury designation. The injury takes on new light, however, given the safety Eric Berry’s season-ending Achilles rupture. Starting right cornerback Steven Nelson also remains on injured reserve.

Head coach Andy Reid did not seem concerned about Parker’s injury, however, during his post-practice press conference.

“There’s really no injuries to mention,” Reid said. “Everyone practiced today, had a good day.”

The club also listed backup inside linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis as questionable with an illness. His potential absence poses a bigger issue for special teams, where he played 32 snaps last week against the Patriots.

Defensive tackle Bennie Logan, who missed practice time with a knee contusion this week, carries no injury designation. The team expects Logan to start Sunday against the Eagles.

Left guard Parker Ehinger (knee) and linebacker Reggie Ragland (knee) are both listed as doubtful. It remains unlikely either is active Sunday.

The Eagles will play without starting cornerback Ronald Darby, who suffered a dislocated ankle in week one. Backup defensive tackle Destiny Vaeao (wrist) also will not play.

The team’s other starting cornerback, Jalen Mills, expects to start despite a thumb injury. Starting left tackle Jason Peters (groin) also appears on the team’s injury report but practiced in full all week and carries no designation.
